Soon Lock spent his first 5.5 years of his career with 3 of the BIG 4 audit firms in Malaysia and the Bahamas. After that, he embarked into his first commercial role as a Financial Controller with a property development company in the UK. Then, he came across an opportunity to join one of the largest food companies in the world, Nestle S.A. as an Assistant Financial Controller with the Commodities Purchasing Centre of Competence (CPCC) department. He spent the next decade of his Nestle career mainly in Procurement and Commercial controlling roles.

In 2020, he decided to leave the comfort zone of Nestle finance family to join Loreal Malaysia as a Division Controller in the Professional Product Division and not long after, he joined Adidas Malaysia as a Finance Director.

Soon Lock has been a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) since 2011.
