The Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint is pushing cloud adoption in the country to help the country reach its 2030 goal of dominating the regional digital economy.

But adopting a cloud, or several cloud platforms, does not translate to automatic success. The does it mean businesses are able to full exploit or benefit from the potential of the cloud. Just as important, being in the cloud also does not guarantee business resilience.

A multi-cloud-by-design strategy enables an organisation to pick out the environment for the outcome they want to achieve. Forrester senior analyst, Tracy Woo, says the decision to adopt an additional cloud platform aims to tap into a specific service or comes as part of a broader resiliency strategy. But in other cases, organizations add complexity and cost without truly realizing they’re doing it.
