Sophia Awang, Head of Group Finance Operation, is a dynamic leader driving Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG)’s finance transformation. Beginning her career with one of the top audit firm, Sophia joined Malaysia Airlines in 2005, steadily advancing through roles in reporting, compliance, and operations. Her growth mindset and ability to embrace challenges led her to spearhead the Group Strategic Procurement, culminating SAP Ariba Award for Procurement Transformation in 2024 for the MAG. Now, at the helm of Group Finance Operation, she champions the digital finance transformation journey. Holding a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Plymouth, UK and ACCA qualification, Sophia’s positive thinking and strategic vision are inspiring the future of finance.
