EVENT OVERVIEW
Thailand’s National AI Strategy reaches full implementation in 2027. Voluntary guidelines give way to a mandatory, risk-based regime under Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA). At the same time, agentic AI moves from pilot to production, sovereign AI and data-residency requirements harden, legacy systems constrain speed, and technology costs demand tighter control.
In this evolving landscape, the CIO is no longer simply tasked with executing transformation mandates. Instead, the CIO is the strategic architect who determines whether the organisation merely meets compliance requirements or turns transformation into a lasting competitive advantage.
Cxociety Research’s 2026 survey of 257 IT leaders found that data quality and integration remain the biggest barriers to AI adoption, while AI agents remain in the early stages of enterprise deployment. Accelerating time-to-value from technology investments is expected to be the top priority for IT leaders in 2027.
As AI adoption accelerates, regulatory expectations evolve and technology environments become increasingly complex, CIOs are facing intensifying pressure to align technology with business priorities while delivering measurable outcomesThai organisations that win will be those whose CIOs deliberately redesign processes around agentic AI, enforce governed control planes, modernise only what creates value, and treat resilience and sovereignty as design principles rather than afterthoughts.
Themed “Reimagining Resilience”, the 3rd Annual FutureCIO Thailand Conference 2027, brings together Thailand’s technology leaders to navigate a new era of business and digital transformation. Keynote: Practical and Production-Ready Playbook for Agentic AI Reference Architecture
Agentic AI is emerging as an important source of future value. Nearly eight in ten (78%) Thai businesses see agentic AI as having moderate to very high potential to transform their organisations, while expected ROI from agentic AI is projected to increase by 13% or reach US$8.5 million (THB280.0 million) over the next two years.
The winning Thai enterprises will not be those with the most agents, but those whose CIOs have already designed the governed control plane that connects business capabilities, trusted data, policies and human oversight.
- Moving beyond “more agents” and towards governed, enterprise-ready AI agents
- Designing a centralised control plane connecting business, data, policies and security
- Establishing identity, permissions and role-based access for AI agents
- Deploying end-to-end observability and monitoring across agent actions, decisions and workflows
- Implementing human-in-the-loop controls for high-risk or sensitive decisions
