Building Cyber Resilience in Malaysia When AI Is the Norm
ABOUT THIS EVENT
As Malaysia accelerates its AI and digital transformation agenda, cyber resilience has become a business-critical priority. Recent ESG research reveals that 88% of organisations now rank ransomware among their top five business threats, while 99% of organisations impacted by ransomware were unable to fully recover all their data.
At the same time, more than 80% of organisations protect 50% or less of their AI-generated data, exposing a growing gap between innovation and resilience. Against this backdrop, security, governance, recoverability and data trust have become inseparable priorities for today’s technology and business leaders. Discussions across government, industry and regulatory bodies, as well as enterprises recognise that cyber resilience is now viewed not merely as an IT concern, but as a business, regulatory and national imperative.
The Malaysia Cyber Security Strategy (MCSS) 2025–2030 is the nation’s definitive blueprint for moving beyond reactive defense toward proactive, national cyber resilience. As revealed by YB Datuk Wilson Ugak Anak Kumbong, at a recent conference:
“An AI nation must also be a secure nation. AI depends on data. Data depends on infrastructure. Infrastructure depends on security. And ultimately, the willingness of people and businesses to participate in the digital economy depends on trust.”
Lessons learned from attacks in South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia. Today, a single AI-enabled ransomware attack has the potential to impact all five critical areas simultaneously:
- Disrupt business operations and critical services.
- Compromise AI models, agents and data pipelines.
- Exfiltrate sensitive information subject to compliance obligations.
- Undermine data sovereignty requirements.
- Test an organisation’s ability to recover quickly and confidently.
As organisations increasingly connect AI systems to enterprise data, attackers are targeting not only infrastructure, but also the trustworthiness, availability and governance of the data that powers business decisions. To explore how leading organisations are addressing these challenges, we invite you to an exclusive executive roundtable bringing together senior technology, cybersecurity, infrastructure, risk, business continuity, data and AI leaders for a peer-level discussion on the future of cyber resilience in Malaysia.
We will explore:
- How leading organisations are evolving from traditional backup strategies to true cyber resilience frameworks capable of withstanding modern ransomware attacks.
- The emerging concept of Enterprise AI Resilience and what it means for protecting AI infrastructure, models, data stores and autonomous agents.
- Practical approaches to data sovereignty and regulatory readiness, including strategies for balancing innovation, compliance and control of critical data assets.
- How data security posture management is becoming essential for identifying sensitive information, reducing risk exposure and supporting trustworthy AI adoption.
- Executive lessons learned from organisations that have successfully improved cyber recovery readiness, incident response and operational resilience.
