Foundational Strategies for Resilience and Growth

About this event

According to a global 451 Research, commissioned by Oracle, cloud adoption has become synonymous with how enterprises are building business agility and operational agility. The 451 Research’s noted that in Asia Pacific, more than 90% of survey respondents the COVID-19 pandemic has been a strong driver of greater interest and investment in cloud technology.

“As organizations face new challenges such as increased levels of remote work and collaboration with new business partners and suppliers, they have adopted a multi-cloud strategy to gain the flexibility and scalability they needed for this new reality.” 451 Research report.

“Multi-cloud is the reality of enterprise technology environments as these organizations seek to get the right mix of solutions and capabilities they need to operate effectively,” said Melanie Posey, Research Director, Cloud & Managed Services Transformation at 451 Research. “Multi-cloud is here to stay, and enterprises are choosing this model for the benefits it provides for a range of different business and operational requirements, like business agility or access to best-of-breed technology.”

IDC’s Research Director of Cloud and Software for APAC, Daphne Chung says organisations in Asia are maturing in their use of cloud, data and new technologies to drive greater efficiencies and deliver on innovation and value creation for the business.

Statista says in 2022, the average number of SaaS applications used by organisations worldwide stood at 130. This increased in applications will expand as organisations extend their use IoT and applications at the edge.

All this comes with a price. The benefits of multi-cloud use opens the organisation to new challenges, including security (45%), lack of visibility into business operations (42%), going over-budget (37%) and burning out staff (31%) as reported in the 2023 Cloud Complexity Report by NetApp. The same study says 98% of global tech executives say their businesses have been impacted by increased complexity of data across the cloud.

What does this do to the CIO and the IT team? Singapore leads the ASEAN region on the road to cloud-led innovation. However, as regulations catch up with evolving global risks concerns, it is incumbent upon the CIO, working in partnership with the CISO and other members of the executive leadership team to ensure that IT can mitigate business challenges while driving forward innovation.

At this exclusive Executive Forum themed Foundational Strategies for Resilience and Growth, we will dive into the strategies and tactics organisations may want to consider to successfully navigate the continuing uncertainties of 2023, while steering the business towards growth and resilience using the cloud.
