Ashok Mitra is now the Chief Executive Officer of PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC). He has been appointed as CEO recently in April 2022. KPC is one of Indonesia’s largest producer and exporter of coal.

He was the General Manager Finance of The Tata Power Company Limited, India, was transferred to Indonesia in August 2007 as Senior Chief Financial Officer of the Company when Tata Power took a 30% stake. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Company Secretary, having worked with Tata Group since 1985.

He obtained a BCOM HONS from Calcutta University in 1976 and Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Institute of Company Secretaries of India in 1980.

Currently, he is also serving as Director of PT Bumi Resources Tbk, the holding company of KPC since 2020 and as Independent Director of Tata International Singapore Pte Ltd. since 2021.
