Wan Chern was the Editor and Business editor of the Myanmar Times, where she oversaw the day-to-day functions of the newsroom, including driving editorial direction, editing content, supporting marketing strategy and coordinating across print, digital, video and social media platforms.

Before moving to Yangon in 2017, Wan Chern spent ten years as a financial journalist at The Edge Singapore, an independent business and investment weekly, where she focused on covering macroeconomics, equities and economic issues in Singapore and ASEAN.

She graduated with an accounting degree from Macquarie University, and also holds a postgraduate degree in International Political Economy from the Nanyang Technological University.

Wan Chern spent four years in Deloitte Malaysia and Singapore prior to becoming a journalist.
