Leonard Kleinman

Len Kleinman is the Field Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – Cortex for Palo Alto Networks JAPAC focusing on critical industry sectors such as Government, Banking and Finance, Utilities, and Education. His mission is to to work with executives and business stakeholders to make security a strategic priority that translates into business value and assists in the development of a risk-based cyber security culture aimed at protecting our digital lives.

Len has close on 32 years of experience in the information technology and cybersecurity industry, with an early focus on Oracle CASE, network operations and database administration. A security technology community activist, he is involved in and supports several cyber security and technology organisations and regularly speaks at security events.

Prior to joining Palo Alto Networks, Len was the Chief Cyber Security Advisor for RSA International. A career public servant, he has worked in senior roles in IT security at the Australian Tax Office, including governance and risk, compliance, the IT Security Advisor role and leading the ATO’s cyber technical team. Focus areas included specialist advice and policy on a range of business and technical activities, strategic and operational planning, service provider engagement, contingency and incident response, and threat intelligence.

He is an Adjunct Professor at Deakin University and has qualifications in Information Systems, Management, Tax Administration Law, and Security & Risk Management. Len also sits on the Forbes Technology Council, the Advisory Board for the Oceania Cyber Security Centre, and is the Branch Chair for the Australian Information Security Association in Canberra.
