Carlo Asuncion is experienced in macroeconomic surveillance and monitoring of Asian economies, with a background on macroeconomic forecasting and economic data analysis. He has produced macroeconomic views for the Philippines and other important economies in Southeast Asia and Central Asia. He was involved in consulting work for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the Macroeconomics Research Division. His research interest is in macroeconomics, finance, and economic development. Carlo is currently chief economist of Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank).
