Wong Tew Kiat has more than 30 years of experience and is equipped with excellent knowledge in Data Centre (DC) Infrastructure & Operations Management, Business Continuity Management (BCM) in planning for Pandemic Preparedness Planning, Crisis Response Management, Incident Response, IT Disaster Recovery (DR) Management, Emergency Management and Data Centre Risk and Health Check Management.
He has managed the Data Centre Infrastructure & Operations Management of a 100,000sqft Data Centre space for the 25 years while he was with Singapore Computer Systems Ltd which was eventually acquired by SingTel. During the 25 years, he managed a team of 40 staff to manage the Data Centre Infrastructures and the Operations which function as Business Continuity Centre for more than 100 clients. He works closely with the Building Management to manage the HT/LT annual servicing which the incoming power were switched to the backup power (generators and UPS) for the annual servicing.
In 2008, he oversaw and project manage the design, construction for additional 25,000sqft Tier 3 data centre space. In the past 6 years, he had conducted numerous risk assessment for data centres in Singapore, Indonesia and Fiji. His recent major DC project is to design, build and operate 2 data centres in Indochina.
He is currently appointed as the Chairman of the Data Centre Chapter by the Singapore Computer Society with objective as a national platform for Data Centre professionals to network and sharing of research and innovative ideas to meet the changing trends of the Data Centre landscapes.
