EVENT OVERVIEW
Thailand’s finance leaders are heading into a stretch where shocks arrive faster and from more directions – shifting trade, moving currencies, rising costs and a steady march of new rules. The message from across the market is the same: resilience is no longer about riding out the storm. It’s about building a finance function that can bend, adapt and keep the business moving forward. Gartner’s report underscores the shift: more than half of CFOs rank enterprise-wide cost optimisation among their top priorities, with sharper forecasting close behind.
According to Cxociety Research’s 2026 survey of more than 60 finance leaders in Thailand, respondents identified the tension between cost and investment as the single biggest challenge to building future advantage. Nowhere is that tension sharper than in AI. Not one respondent expects AI to leave finance untouched, with AP and AR matching and reconciliation the process they most expect AI to run on its own by the end of 2026. Deloitte’s 2026 Thailand survey found 61% of Thai organisations are now implementing AI, yet 81% are still stuck in pilots and only 9% say AI has opened up new revenue. CFOs are being asked to fund AI, control its cost and prove its return, all at the same time.
The 5th Annual FutureCFO Thailand Conference 2027, themed “Reimagining Resilience”, part of the largest CFO conferences in ASEAN, brings together Thailand’s senior finance leaders to rethink what resilience means for the years ahead and how to turn it into a real advantage. Over one day, CFOs and finance executives will share practical ideas, honest experiences and forward-looking strategies on growth, cost, AI, tax, sustainability and talent, with a clear eye on 2027 and beyond.
Critical topics this year include:
- Reading the economy and planning with confidence through 2027
- Moving AI from trials to real, everyday value in finance
- Staying ahead of fast-changing tax and reporting rules
- Getting ready for the new sustainability reporting (ISSB) by 2028

Panel Discussion: Rewiring the Supply Chain – Finance for Resilience and Growth
Supply chains are being reshaped as businesses rethink where and how they source, make and move goods. For Thailand, that is opening up fresh investment and new capacity, but it also stretches working capital and adds complexity. This session looks at how finance leaders fund supply-chain resilience, manage the risks that come with it, and position their businesses to capture new opportunities.
- Funding new capacity, CAPEX and the working capital it demands
- Strengthening supply-chain finance and supplier relationships
- Managing cost, currency and operational risk across the chain
- Positioning the business to capture new investment and demand

A volatile baht, diverging interest rates and uneven capital flows make treasury one of the sharpest tests of resilience for Thai finance teams. Discover how CFOs and treasurers are protecting liquidity, managing currency risk and keeping funding options open as conditions shift through 2027.
- Managing baht volatility and currency exposure
- Protecting liquidity and keeping funding lines open
- Navigating diverging interest rates at home and abroad

Fireside Chat: Rebuilding the Finance Operating Model for the AI Era
As AI and automation take on more routine work, the shape of the finance function is up for grabs. CFOs are rethinking their operating model: which work stays in-house, which gets automated, and which is outsourced to partners. Explore how finance leaders are redesigning their operating models, deciding what to change, what to retain, and how to protect control, quality and data along the way
- Deciding what finance keeps in-house, automates or outsources
- Where automation and AI change the economics of how work gets done

Keynote: Pricing Power – Using Data and Analytics to Protect Margins and Grow Profitably in 2027
When tariffs, energy and input costs rise, pricing becomes one of the CFO’s sharpest tools. A Federation of Thai Industries survey of 1,311 manufacturers found 71.9% named energy prices as a growing concern, with rising material costs pushing many to consider price increases. Getting that call wrong costs either margin or market share. This session shows how finance leaders are using pricing and customer profitability data to decide where to raise prices, where to hold the line, and which customers and products really make money.
- Using customer, product and deal-level data to see where margin is won and lost
- Deciding where to pass on costs and where to hold the line
- Protecting margin without losing market share
- Tracking profitability in near real time as costs and tariffs shift

Panel Discussion: From First Wins to Next Moves – Scaling AI and the Next Leap in Financial Decision-Making
For many finance teams, AI is no longer a pilot. After months of running it in day-to-day work, from reconciliations to reporting, the early wins are in and so are the lessons. The question now is what comes next, and how to move from faster processes to better decisions. In this session, CFOs who have run AI in finance shares what delivered, what did not, and where they are taking it next: testing investment cases, challenging budget assumptions and flagging blind spots before the board does, while keeping human judgement firmly in charge.
- What AI has really delivered, and what it hasn’t
- Scaling the wins and stopping what doesn’t work
- Sharpening investment cases, spotting new opportunities and building competitive advantage
- Keeping human judgement and accountability in charge

Fireside Chat: AI Agents in Record-to-Report, With Intelligent Controls Built In
The month-end close is where AI agents are proving themselves first: matching transactions, posting accruals and explaining variances on their own. With intelligent automation, accounting teams are moving toward a continuous, on-demand close, with much of the reconciliation, adjustment and reporting work done by machines. But adoption in Thailand is still early, with AWS’s 2026 study finding only 4% of firms familiar with agentic AI have fully deployed it. Discover how to put agents to work in the close with the controls, audit trail and ROI the board will ask for.
- Which close tasks agents can run end to end today
- Moving from month-end close to a continuous close
- Intelligent controls: approval limits, segregation of duties and audit trails for agents
- Proving ROI in days saved, errors caught and cost per close

Keynote: Deepfakes, Scams and Synthetic Fraud – Protecting Cash, Payments and Trust in the AI Era
Fraud has gone industrial. Thai victims lost nearly THB 9 billion to online scams in the first half of 2026 alone, and AI now enables criminals to clone an executive’s voice or face to push through an “urgent” payment. Finance holds the keys to the company’s cash, which makes it a prime target. Explore how CFOs are building verification into every payment, using AI to catch fraud before money leaves, and preparing their people for attacks that look and sound real.
- How deepfakes and AI-driven scams target finance teams
- Building verification into every payment and supplier change
- Using AI to spot and stop fraud before money leaves
- Preparing people for attacks that look and sound real

Keynote: The CFO as Data Steward – One Source of Truth, AI-Ready Data and Trusted Numbers
Every AI, planning and reporting ambition in finance rests on the same thing: data the business can trust. Gartner warns of the “garbage in, gospel out” trap, where AI is fed poor data and its answers are trusted anyway. This session shows how CFOs are taking ownership of finance data, building one source of truth across ERP, operations and ESG, and making their numbers ready for AI and assurance.
- Why AI, ESG reporting and planning all stall on the same data gaps
- Building one source of truth across ERP, operations and ESG data
- Who owns the data: governance, definitions and accountability
- Making finance numbers AI-ready and assurance-ready

Fireside Chat: Building an AI-Fluent Finance Team – Upskilling, AI Literacy and Leading the Change
Finance is one of the functions most exposed to AI. In Thailand, Robert Walters found that about 60% of professionals worry about keeping up with AI skills because of a lack of training, and more than half of employers expect a quarter to half of their staff to need reskilling within five years. Hiring is hard and expensive, so the answer has to start with the team already in place. Discover how leaders are building AI literacy, creating new roles and bringing people with them through the change.
- Building role-specific AI literacy across the finance team
- New roles finance needs, from model builders to AI reviewers
- Leading change so new tools are actually used
- Keeping top talent when every company wants the same skills

Keynote: FinOps for Finance – Governing the Cost of Cloud and AI
Cloud bills were hard enough; now AI is adding a fast-growing usage-based cost that finance is being asked to control. FinOps, is moving from a cloud discipline into the CFO’s remit, with most organisations now managing their AI spend. This keynote shows how finance leaders can get a grip on the rising cost of cloud and AI without slowing innovation.
- Why cloud and AI costs behave differently from traditional IT spend
- Bringing finance, engineering and the business together on tech spend
- Getting visibility and accountability for what AI really costs
- Controlling the bill without slowing innovation

Panel Discussion: Financing the Transition Green Capital, Carbon and the Road to Net Zero
Beyond disclosure lies the harder question: how to fund the move to a lower-carbon business. Thailand’s ESG bond market has already passed THB 1 trillion, a THB 200 per tonne carbon price is now on the books, and mandatory ISSB-aligned reporting begins with the SET50 from 2027. With the Thailand Taxonomy, growing green and sustainability-linked finance, and carbon pricing on the horizon, finance leaders are being asked to put real money behind the transition. This session looks at how to finance it without losing commercial discipline.
- Funding decarbonisation: green bonds, loans and sustainability-linked finance
- Using the Thailand Taxonomy to shape investment decisions
- Getting ready for carbon pricing and its cost impact
- Making the transition stack up commercially, not just ethically

Closing Keynote: Thailand 2027–2028: Where the Economy Is Heading and Where CFOs Should Place Their Bets
With the Bank of Thailand expecting growth of just 1.8% in 2027, the question is not whether conditions will be tough, but where the openings are. This session looks past the headline numbers to the sectors, policies and investment flows that will shape Thailand’s next two years, and what they mean for where CFOs put their capital.
- What a low-growth, higher-cost Thailand means for business
- Where new investment and demand are coming from
- The policy and rate developments to watch through 2027 and 2028
- Turning the outlook into decisions the board can act on
