EVENT OVERVIEW
Two and a half years after the coronavirus first emerged, most countries have opened up their borders and economies as they now learn to live with COVID-19. With a shift to treating the pandemic as endemic and as the government eases up the COVID-19 related restrictions, South East Asia’s largest economy is expected to grow by 5.0% in 2022 and 5.2% in 2023 as domestic demand continues to recover, according to a report by ADB.
According to the same report, Indonesia’s consumer spending and manufacturing activity have been consistently rising and investment is benefiting from expanding demand, improvements in the investment and business climate, and a recovery in credit.
Despite this outlook, however, Indonesia may face potential financial market volatility due to global and the country’s tightening monetary policy rolled out in March 2022 along with changes on tax rate as part of the government’s fiscal normalisation policy in April. Also, the Russian-Ukraine conflict, if prolonged, could significantly affect inflation and the fiscal balance in the country.
As Indonesia accelerates digitalization adoption across key sectors to increase productivity and growth, organisations need to step up their game in harnessing the latest technology trends, improve technology capability, boost innovation and develop digital-savvy workforce to future-proof their businesses.
With the pandemic far from over and with the heightened push to fast-track digital agenda to thrive in this new COVID economy, what will be the day-to-day portfolio of forward-looking CFOs and finance leaders in Indonesia in 2022? How will the current macroeconomic outlook, key policy changes and digital infrastructure, fiscal incentives, and regulatory reforms affect finance leaders in Indonesia? How can strategic CFOs and finance executives stay agile, react immediately and make informed decisions when they need to make sharp turns through uncertainty? What will be CFO’s expanding role in the ESG ecosystem?
CXOCIETY is pleased to hold our inaugural FutureCFO Indonesia vSummit. Taking place on 23 June 2022 from 9.00am to 12.30pm this virtual summit will gather over 120 senior finance professionals from multiple industries in Indonesia.
