WELCOME NOTE

EVENT OVERVIEW

With the enduring uncertainty, two and half years after the coronavirus first emerged, technology leaders in Southeast Asia are expected to continue driving transformation and pushing innovation.

As enterprises enter to new next-gen ecosystem, which emphasizes on agile and digital-first mind-set and adoption, CIO’s role today has become multifaceted. CIOs hold the key to ensure their organisations’ business continuity, sustainability, growth and future success by advocating change, advance innovation, and differentiation using emerging technologies.

As part of the efforts in creating future-ready enterprise, not only CIOs are required to be in charge of accelerating digital transformation, but also reset their leadership strategy and IT operations model to support business recovery in a rapidly changing business landscape.

Therefore, looking ahead to 2022, CIOs and IT leaders in ASEAN will still have to deploy multiple cloud tools and platforms to connect to other environments, provide flexibility and stay agile. Also, to improve their business operations and customer experience, IT leaders will need to tap into the latest activities in the technology space around big data, IoT and automation – to name a few.

Moreover, with the increase uses of cloud, remote work, digital payment and mobile devices, CIOs will have to step up their games in securely scaling their business.

CXOCIETY is pleased to launch our FutureCIO ASEAN vSummit under the theme “Multi-Dimensional Strategies for Staying Relevant, Responsive and Resilient”.

Taking place on 13 July 2022 from 9am to 12:30pm (GMT +8), the FutureCIO ASEAN vSummit will gather IT leaders and senior information executives from multiple industries across ASEAN to address CIOs’ concerns and business priorities this year. KEYNOTE II: The True Cost of Cybercrime
The price of digital transformation and innovation comes with new risks. As organizations consider both keeping their business moving and moving to the cloud, leaders will be faced with tough choices. IT leaders with limited budgets are continually balancing the dilemma of investing in new technology for the business or protecting the organization from new cyber threats.

News headlines relentlessly tout millions of dollars lost resulting from cyber-attacks, but the real question that everyone really wants to know is will that happen to us? And if it does, what’s next? How much will it cost the business? How much should we spend to mitigate those threats?

  • The cost to pay the ransom for ransomware
  • The money lost by businesses in downtime from a cyber-attack
  • The cost for hackers to launch a targeted threat campaign
  • Where organizations should start when considering their future strategy
