WELCOME NOTE

Two years into the pandemic, organisations have been rising to the challenges of the COVID-19 economy while grappling with the lasting effects of the pandemic. Though businesses are on a path to recovery this year; it is requisite for finance leaders to constantly seek ways to succeed in this new “stable instability”, realise profitable growth and tactfully prepare for what comes next.

As Southeast Asia countries learn to live with COVID-19 and expect economic recovery to be more pronounced in 2022, the Philippines’ economy, in particular, is expected to post the strongest rebound among its ASEAN peers.

With the country’s economy slowly being reopened, boosting consumer and business confidence, optimism began to eke its way into the minds of finance leaders. However, with the big lessons learned from 2021, it is still uncertain how a wave of new volatility may present and affect business’s profitability and growth in the Philippines in 2022 and beyond.

As the pandemic is far from over and with the heightened push to accelerate digital agenda to thrive in this new COVID economy, what will be the day-to-day portfolio of forward-looking CFOs and finance leaders in the Philippines this year ahead? How can strategic CFOs and finance executives stay agile, react immediately and make informed decisions when they need to make sharp turns through uncertainty? Also, amidst a pandemic-induced labor shortage and foreseeable hybrid working environments, what are the strategies for CFOs to win the “war of talent” in the Philippines?

Taking place on Wednesday 23 March 2022 from 9am to 12:30pm PHT, the 2nd FutureCFO Philippines vSummit will gather over 120 senior finance professionals from multiple industries in the Philippines. This virtual event aims to address the latest macroeconomic and tax updates, business risks and opportunities, CFO’s top action plans to drive change and recover growth in the Philippines.
